Subject - Verb Agreement

Subject – Verb Agreement

The subject and the verb in a sentence need to agree, or go together correctly.

Do not add –s or-es to a present tense verb that tells about more than one person or thing.

Eg. One bell rings.    Three bells ring.

If the subject is one person, the verb must tell about one person. If the subject is more than one person, the verb must tell about more than one person.

One More Than One
Toby walks home.
